Stéphane Faure joined InnovExplo three years ago, after a 25-year career in structural geology, geochemistry and metallogeny. In other words, he has extensive experience, which is perfectly suited to our line of work. A member of the Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ), the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Northwest Territories (NAPEG), Stéphane is both a fieldman and a data processing expert.
At InnovExplo, Stéphane acquires structural and geochemical data in the field, then processes and interprets them using 3D representation software. This valuable information is crucial for understanding and managing the geological challenges faced by mining companies. It’s one of his favourite parts of his job: “I like to use my diverse knowledge of geoscience to solve clients’ problems. I like talking with them to help them meet their challenges.”
The InnovExplo team considers itself lucky to be able to count on Stéphane day after day. His precise field surveys, extensive understanding of the geology of a deposit or area of study and knowledge of the needs of the mining industry make him an amazing resource. In addition, his foreign and modelling experience is a must for us. He also believes it’s essential: “I believe that, in my profession, it’s critical to be versatile and have a 3D vision of projects.”
He has been able to develop his unique skillset through his exploration work for various mining companies in Central and South America and through mapping and rereading campaigns for drill cores, among others. This has allowed him to become an expert—our expert—in mining geoscience. And we hope to have him with us for a long time!
